Last week MacKay Sposito sponsored a Business After School Engineering Week event through the Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council (SWWDC) for high school students who were generally interested in the field of engineering but also wanted to learn about our business, the types of work we do here, the jobs that work creates, and the education and/or experience a person needs to get one of those jobs.

As a delegate member of the Tri-Cities Legislative Council, I traveled to Olympia last week to meet with state representatives to promote the Tri-Cities region and discuss critical issues affecting our region's businesses.

Bob Sable, Leadership Clark County Class (LCC) of 2015, traveled to Olympia, Washington with his class Wednesday, January 20, 2015. Escorted by former State Senator and long-time community advocate Dean Sutherland, Bob’s day was a whirlwind tour of our State’s capital. The LCC class was introduced to Lieutenant Governor Brad Owen, Secretary of State Kim Wyman, Supreme Court Justice Susan Owens, and several members of the Southwest Washington delegation including: Representative Paul Harris, Representative Lynda Wilson, Representative Brandon Vick, Representative Jim Moeller, Representative Sharon Wylie, Senator Ann Rivers, and Senator Annette Cleveland. Governor Inslee’s regional Southwest Washington representative and Director of International Relations and Protocol, Schuyler Hoss, also stopped by to visit with the LCC class.
