OAMERecently, I was asked to serve as a judge for the Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs (OAME) Youth Entrepreneurship Conference.  The mission of the Youth Entrepreneurship Program (Y.E.P.) is to provide training and hands-on experience to youth, with the support and mentorship of businesses in the state of Oregon and SW Washington. The program aims to promote and develop youth entrepreneurs and leaders statewide.

Forty-five students participated in the areas of business plan development, managing finances and obtaining funding, marketing and professional development.

As a judge, it was inspiring to see their passions ignited simply by a mentor telling them they can do anything they want. If they have a dream, they can build it. I was impressed by the students' ability to understand market need and how to create a profitable business.

I am excited to see how these young entrepreneur's careers evolve and I am glad to have participated!
