The Return of a University of Idaho Vandal

BryanPresentingEvery spring, The College of Art and Architecture at the University of Idaho hosts a daylong interactive conference entitled "Inspiring Design Futures." The conference celebrates the inspiring journeys, compelling professional achievements, and visionary community works made by College of Art and Architecture alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends.

The organizing committee nominated our own Bryan Cole, a graduate of the U of I Landscape Architecture program, to speak at the conference. The theme of this year’s conference was “Making,” and Bryan accepted the challenge to share his philosophy on community making and building a sense of place.

Bryan was one of 13 speakers who presented to over 300 current students and faculty. His 20-minute presentation included an overview of the Hanford Community Vision Project as well as Chegwyn Park in McMinnville, OR. He also spoke about our company’s mission and dedication to giving back to our communities (for example: he shared images and the history of Make a Difference Day and the 40 Years of Thanks Initiative). Following the presentations, Bryan participated in a roundtable discussion where he and the other presenters provided career insight and support to the students.

To top it off, he was also interviewed for a promotional video the college will use to recruit high school graduates and encourage them to consider participating in the U of I  Landscape Architecture Program.

Bryan’s professional success within the industry has made him a valuable resource for his alma mater as well future generations of Landscape Architects and designers. Great job, Bryan!
