The Community Culture

E_150506_N149_smallAs long as there have been humans on this planet, there have been problems or challenges to overcome. In our current, fast paced digital society with 24 hour news feeds from around the globe, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by what seems like an endless stream of bad news. Everyone reacts to this differently. Some may just tune it out. Others may freak out. Still others may choose to act out. A fairly common reaction is to complain about something but not do anything about it.

The reality is, we all can choose to be part of the problem or part of the solution to any of the issues that exist in our communities right now. Any of us, individually or collectively, cannot fix everything, but we can fix something.

MacKay Sposito has a long history of giving back to the communities we live and work in to make them better. It has been deeply entrenched in the culture here for 40 years and covers the spectrum from volunteering to coach little league or other sports teams, filling a role at church, helping with a non-profit group, serving on a board or commission, volunteering at your child’s school, donating blood, helping a neighbor, or assisting a complete stranger in need.

There have been many blog posts over the last year that have highlighted MacKay Sposito employees who chose to be part of the solution to something they had some passion about or who just happened to be in the right place at the right time to help. I have a feeling there may be more of you who spend your time on something you feel passionate about that I’m not aware of, or maybe you just haven’t found that particular thing that pulls you in yet.  Either way I’m hoping you will share what you’re doing or may want to do by answering 3 quick questions on a survey that you can take here:

We want to know how you’re currently putting the Community Culture into action or where you would like to see it happen.

I look forward to reading your responses!
