A Pictures Worth a Thousand Words

Sometimes, pictures are better than words. How do you describe technical aspects of a project to someone who may not be familiar with them, or explain the sheer scope and size of work being performed on a job site? It’s not unusual for some projects to take us way outside the city limits, and into some really remote but beautiful places. Pictures were being taken of some of these sites, but generally stayed within our internal departments. So we asked the question, “how do we collect these photos so we can share them and use them in telling stories about the projects we’ve worked on?”

Out of this question, the Monthly Photo Contest was born. Every month we request that employees submit their project pictures to our marketing department. The top four are presented to the entire company, and votes are submitted to name the “Top Photo of the Month.”

It took a bit to catch on, but we now receive a steady stream of incredible photos. Even more important, are the stories that come with them. It’s amazing to see the creative talent we have within each department! Maybe we’re spoiled—each service area has its own interpretation of a project, resulting in some truly unique images.

But enough of the talking—let’s see some pictures! These are the finalist images submitted this month by our employees. Can you guess which one took home the “best picture?”
